Compare online packages by real cost, not listing price
Marketplace and directory packages often show a clean starting price. The booking cost can change once you add hours, travel, setup, delivery, service charges or final balance terms.
| Package line | What to compare | Red flag |
|---|---|---|
| Included hours | Coverage, setup and teardown time | Cheap package with costly overtime |
| Deliverables | Files, gallery, album, edited images, rentals or menus | Important deliverables treated as add-ons |
| Travel and setup | Mileage, parking, accommodation, early access | Travel confirmed only after booking |
| Deposit and final balance | Amount due now, date due later, refund rules | Large non-refundable payment without clear scope |
| Extra guests or hours | Per-head, per-hour or per-table upgrade costs | Base quote ignores your real guest count |
Before paying a deposit, ask these questions
- What exactly is included in this package for our guest count and venue?
- What costs are not included in the quote?
- When are the deposit and final balance due?
- What happens if the wedding runs late?
- What changes if we add guests, tables, travel or extra setup time?
- What is refundable if the date changes?
Build a comparison sheet
A strong comparison sheet should include the package name, total cost, deposit, final balance, included hours, exclusions, overtime rate, contract notes and your final decision.
Do not lose payment dates after choosing a vendor
Once a quote becomes a booking, move the deposit and final balance into a payment tracker.
